Two Gainesville men are accused of possessing child pornography, according to authorities.

Matthew Steven Stover, 33, and William Lester Green, 47, were both charged with Internet obscenity and possession/distribution of child pornography by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s Office spokesman Deputy Chad Mann said two separate investigations led to the arrests Wednesday.

Mann said the two were allegedly “downloading and sharing images and movies containing child pornography online.”

In a news release, Mann said the Sheriff’s Office conducted undercover investigations for the two men “resulting in search warrants of their homes and ultimately the arrest of both individuals.”

“In addition to their arrests, investigators seized items including multiple computers, monitors and electronic media storage devices,” Mann wrote in a news release.

Stover and Green were booked Wednesday in to the Hall County Jail, where they remain.
