An 18-year-old Gainesville man is charged with sexual exploitation of a child after authorities say he made and distributed a video of himself and a 16-year-old girl “engaging in sexual activity” that was consensual.

Salvador Godoy-Mojica made and distributed the video between October and November, Hall County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Scott Ware said in a news release.

The lieutenant did not disclose how the case was reported to law enforcement.

“Salvador, who was himself a minor at the time of the alleged offense, staunchly maintains his innocence,” his attorney Stephen Reba wrote in an email.

Godoy-Monica was booked Saturday in to the Hall County Jail, where he remains. Ware said Godoy-Mojica has an immigration hold.

Godoy-Mojica was previously charged in March with possession of LSD with the intent to distribute and distribution of drugs on school property at East Hall High School.

Sheriff’s Office officials said they found 39 doses of the hallucinogenic drug.
