A Gainesville man is accused of molesting two children under the age of 10, according to authorities.

Jose Francisco Vierra-Pirir, was charged with two counts of child molestation. He was booked Thursday in to the Hall County Jail, where he remains.

Authorities allege that Viera-Pirir “inappropriately fondled two minor children.” Hall County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Scott Ware said there were two separate occasions between Aug. 1 and Aug. 15.

The children were 5 and 9 years old, Ware said, adding that Viera-Pirir knew the alleged victims.

“Investigators obtained a warrant for Viera-Pirir’s arrest on (Tuesday),” Ware wrote in a news release.

The case remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
