Authorities find more than $100,000 in drugs, cash at Gainesville home

Drugs worth almost $89,000 and about $23,700 in cash was found at a Sherry Lane home authorities searched Thursday, according to a news release from the Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad.

Two Gainesville residents, one authorities say is a SUR13 gang member, have been arrested in connection with the case.

Agents say they found 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine, about 10 pounds of marijuana, 69 hydrocodone pills, 60 alprazolam and 24 oxycodone. They also seized scales, packaging materials and two semi-automatic handguns.

Christopher Leeown Rodriguez, 27, and Cristina Perez, 20, face charges of trafficking methamphetamine and marijuana along with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, marijuana, hydrocodone, oxycodone and alprazolam, according to the MANS news release.

The two also are charged with possession of a firearm during a commission of a felony, violation of the Street Gang and Terrorism Act and Rodriguez is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
