Police say alcohol was a factor in the motorcycle crash that killed Alto resident Alan Richard Mockus at a North Carolina motor speedway last weekend. A report from police in Concord, N.C., says Mockus’ Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling at about 50 mph when it collided head-on with a motorcycle driven by Thomas Franklin Hollingsworth. The report indicates that Mockus, 66, had been drinking alcohol before the crash occurred.
