Four people were arrested overnight Tuesday in connection with a home invasion on Cooley Drive, according to the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

About 10:40 p.m., deputies responding to a call learned four armed men had entered a residence in the 900 block of Cooley Drive and held one adult and nine juveniles at gunpoint.

The house was ransacked, but the men left after their demands for money and electronics weren't met.

While approaching the scene, a deputy observed a white Buick traveling with no headlights on Black Drive and attempted to make a traffic stop. Those in the vehicle ran, and a K-9 team tracked them to a house on Jordan Drive.

Four men were arrested there without incident. Two weapons were recovered from the vehicle and two more were later found in an abandoned house on Jordan Drive. No one was injured during the incident.

Arrested were Dustin Jones, 17, and Torriocquie Glenn, 18, both of Gainesville, along with Joseph Berry, 18, and Marquis Berry, 21, both of Oakwood.

All four were booked into the Hall County Jail, charged with one count of armed robbery and 10 counts of aggravated assault each. Bond will be set at a first court appearance.

The adult at the home during the invasion was the grandmother of some of the juveniles and was baby-sitting the others for a neighbor, said Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks, public information officer for the Sheriff's Office.

They were held at gunpoint just long enough for the house to be ransacked and the men to realize they weren't going to find what they were looking for, Wilbanks said.
Wilbanks said the incident didn't appear to be drug-related.

"We were fortunate that we had deputies in the area when it happened," Wilbanks said. "It worked out really well, first, in that nobody was injured and second, that we were able to make the arrests.

"If it hadn't been for that deputy coming down Black Drive, we might not have been able to have any good leads or make any arrests."

The incident remains under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division of the Sheriff's Office.
