A Lula man was arrested Thursday on drug charges, including possession of $24,000 worth of marijuana.
Twelve marijuana plants were detected by Hall County Sheriff’s Office authorities outside of Wayne William Grindle’s residence in the 5500 block of White Hall Road.
“My understanding is that the uniformed deputies went to that location looking for another individual,” said Lt. Scott Ware, with the Gainesville/Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad. “In the course of looking for that person, they found these marijuana plants at the resident of Mr. Grindle.”
Following that discovery, the deputies contacted MANS. A search of the residence was conducted, and investigators located and seized processed marijuana along with methamphetamine residue and firearms.
Ware explained that testable amounts of methamphetamine were found on digital scales in the residence.
A mature marijuana plant is capable of producing 1 pound of processed marijuana.
“The common price for a pound of marijuana is $2,000,” Ware said.
Grindle, 60, was charged with possession of marijuana, manufacturing marijuana and possession of methamphetamine. He is being held in the Hall County Jail.
