There were two house fires reported in Hall County over the weekend.
An unoccupied home around 3000 Spring Road caught fire early Sunday morning.
Firefighters arrived at the scene around 4:30 a.m. and found a 1500-square-foot house “with heavy fire showing,” said Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell.
The fire crews searched the home for people and extinguished the fire. The home was a “total loss,” with damage estimated to be about $150,000. An investigator is working to determine the cause.
“The home was unoccupied and without utilities,” Kimbrell said. “So the fire is suspicious in nature.”
At 11:30 p.m. Saturday, county and Gainesville firefighters were called to 38 Stallworth St. on a reported house fire.
Upon arrival there was heavy fire showing. It was quickly brought under control and no injuries were reported.
Kimbrell said the fire is under investigation and a dollar estimate of damage will be calculated later.
