Jefferson and Courtney Thigpen

Courtney Jill Wiley and Jefferson Davis Thigpen were united in marriage at 2:30 p.m. May 7, 2011, at Gainesville First United Methodist Church in Gainesville. The bride is the daughter of Kim and Jim Parks of Murrayville, and Tommy and Debbie Wiley of Clermont. The groom is the son of Buddy and Susan Thigpen of Gainesville.

The Rev. Buddy Thigpen performed the ceremony. Organist Keith Jeffcoat presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride's friend Meghan Shanik of Alpharetta was maid of honor. The bride's sister Katelyn Parks of Murrayville, was the bridesmaid. The bride's sister Olivia Parks of Murrayville was the flower girl.

The groom's uncle Mike Phifer of Benton, Ark., was the best man. The groom's brother Patrick Thigpen of Gainesville, was the groomsman. The bride's brother Jake Parks of Murrayville, was the ring bearer. Ushers were Robert Thigpen, Tyler Wiley, Gordon Thigpen and Colya Grashenkov.

Katie Winfrey was the wedding coordinator. Brandi Palmer and Cassidi Wiley kept the bride's book.

The bride carried a sixpence given to her by friend Sally Boyd. She carried the groom's handkerchief and her grandmother's pearls in her bouquet.

The groom's parents gave a rehearsal dinner at Gainesville World Outreach Fellowship in Gainesville on the eve of the wedding.

The bride's parents gave a reception at Gainesville First United Methodist Church in Gainesville following the ceremony.

Following a honeymoon to Helen, the couple reside in Gainesville.
