Tom and Sally Oliver of Chestnut Mountain announce the engagement of their daughter Caroline Ann Oliver to Micah James Lawson, son of Bobby and Kathy Lawson of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Doris Kohlbacher of Roanoke, Va., the late Sheldon Kohlbacher, W.N. Oliver of Chestnut Mountain and the late Mary Curtis Oliver.

She is a 2000 graduate of Johnson High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2004 from Boston University in Boston with a bachelor's degree in environmental analysis and policy. She is employed with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas in Austin, Texas.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Katie Fleeman of Royston, the late Charles James Fleeman and the late Edna and James M. Lawson.

He is a 2000 graduate of Johnson High School in Gainesville. He graduated in 2006 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor's degree in consumer journalism. He is employed as an account executive with Ricoh Americas Corp. in Austin.

The couple plan to wed Oct. 24, 2009, on Jekyll Island.
