Darlene and Don Cagle of Powder Springs and Wanda and James Manning of Rockmart announce the engagement of their daughter Christine Yvonne Manning to Nathan Ebb Scott, son of Anita and Ebb Scott of Buford.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ethel and Floyd Manning of Rockmart, Jearldine Davis of Powder Springs and the late Dara Davis.

She is a 1992 graduate of McEachern High School in Powder Springs. She graduated in 1997 from Kennesaw State University with a bachelor's degree in biology and in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She received a master's degree at Emory University in Atlanta in nursing in 2008. She is employed as a registered nurse with Maternal Fetal Specialists in Atlanta.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Ray and Charlotte Sexton of Buford and the late Frank and Elizabeth Scott.

He is a 1995 graduate of North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee. He graduated in 1998 from Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville with an associate's degree in applied technology. He is co-owner of Scott's Tree Service in Buford.

The couple plan to wed Nov. 1, 2008, at Dreams Resort & Spa in Cancun, Mexico.
