Mrs. Geneva Griffin of Perry announces the engagement of her daughter Miss Sheila Ann Griffin to Mr. Robert Wayne Harrison Sr., son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Bryan Harrison Sr. The bride is the daughter of the late Mr. Thomas Griffin Jr.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nassie Paulk and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Griffin Sr.

She is a 1972 graduate of the Westfield School in Perry. She graduated in 1977 from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta with a bachelor's degree in physical therapy. She received a master's degree at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C., in library and information science. She is employed as an executive director with Foothill Area Health Education Center in Gainesville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thomas Hipps and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harrison.

He is a 1972 graduate of the Westfield School in Perry. He attended the University of Georgia in Athens. He is the owner of Harrison Home Products in Athens.

The couple plan to wed April 18, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Gainesville.
