Melissa Joy Crider, daughter of the late Mike and Sandi Crider, announces her engagement to John Codell Daigh, son of George Michael and Johanne Daigh of Cumming.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late William Hope, Dorothy Mae Morris, Charles P. Crider and Nellie Jean Sheridan.

She is a 1996 graduate of Forsyth Central High School in Cumming. She graduated in 2000 from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro with a bachelor's degree in public relations. She is employed as a program manager with Equifax in Alpharetta.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Anna Laura Codell of Winchester, Ky., the late John R. Codell and the late George B. and Flora Daigh.

He is a 1993 graduate of Forsyth Central High School in Cumming. He graduated in 1997 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor's degree in risk management. He is employed by Daigh Company Inc. in Cumming.

The couple plan to wed Aug. 13, 2011, at Primrose Cottage in Roswell.
