Splash Zone opens for the summer this weekend

The Splash Zone at the Frances Meadows Aquatic and Community Center in Gainesville is opening for the summer on Saturday.  

To celebrate the official start of summer at the outdoor water park, there will be a deejay spinning tunes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., along with games and prizes. The first 100 visitors on Saturday will receive a free single daily return passport, and there also will be 90-day individual passports given throughout the day.

Splash Zone has two three-story body slides, a swirl pool, a current channel and a zero-depth entry to the playground with a variety of interactive water features.

Starting this weekend, hours for the outdoor Splash Zone will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5. The Frances Meadows Center is located at 1545 Community Way NE, Gainesville.
