BRASELTON — Whether you’re an expectant mother, a long-time mother or you’ve just had your first child, the Mom Expo at Chateau Élan this Saturday will bring you a plethora of information about the many facets of parenthood.

“The Mom Expo is a lifestyle event for moms of all ages in the greater Braselton area,” said Jullie King, director of human resources and community development for The Longstreet Clinic and Mom Expo organizer. “We decided that we would present this event in conjunction with the new medical offices in Braselton.”

The event, presented by The Longstreet Clinic, will bring together doctors, dieticians, photographers and community leaders to offer their expertise on everything from the importance of nutrition in lowering childhood obesity to transitioning to an empty nest and how to get winning photographs of your children.

“We’ve tried to focus on health, education, appearance and parenting, but we’ll have a lot of other topics as well,” Kind said.
“We’re going to have over 30 exhibitors we think are of interest to moms.”

While different area experts give talks throughout the afternoon, mothers and their families can stop and pick up useful information from the booths set up at the Inn at Chateau Elan. Several Braselton and Hoschton businesses and organizations will be in attendance, including Mayfield Dairy, Heather Wayne’s Performing Arts Dance Academy and Wilson Orthodontics.

In addition to the booths and seminars, the event also will feature a fashion show presented by Belk at Lakeshore Mall in Gainesville and the Mall of Georgia in Buford and emceed by radio host Martha Zoller.

“At the mom-oriented fashion show, we’re going to have lots of moms people are going to recognize from our area, and their children,” King said.

Mothers also can take the opportunity to pamper themselves by visiting the spa at Chateau Elan or taking one of the wine tours going on throughout the afternoon.

King said the expo can give mothers a good deal of information about staying healthy — something that affects the entire family.

“From a physician practice standpoint, I think about wellness. And as a mom, I know that our wellness translates into the wellness of our children and our families. That would be the key thing,” she said.
