In four days’ time, area veterans will march through the downtown streets of Gainesville and take a bow in the 13th annual Memorial Day Parade.

Sponsored by the Paul E. Bolding American Legion Post 7 and the Northeast Georgia Veterans Coalition, the parade will begin at 10 a.m. to noon on Green Street at First Baptist Church.

The parade route will travel down Green Street toward the downtown square, turn left onto E.E. Butler Parkway and turn right onto Spring Street to end at the parking garage. Streets will start to be blocked off at 9 a.m.

Lineup will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church or Gainesville Civic Center.

Candy will not be thrown from vehicles but tossed by marchers walking along the parade route.
