From quality antiques and collectibles to arts, crafts and games, the Flowery Branch Spring Festival will offer a wide range of items and activities for all to enjoy.

Festival volunteer Jenn Lennox said several handcrafted items will be featured. Dancers and a DJ will provide live entertainment throughout the day. Plus, the Whittler will conduct a live chain saw carving, she said.

“We are excited that we do have several new vendors as well as some seasoned favorites,” Lennox said.

Sponsored by the Boy Scout of America Troop 228 and city of Flowery Branch, the annual event will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 23, in the city’s downtown area. Admission is free.

Troop 228, sponsored by the Mason Lodge, uses the event to raise funds to maintain the scout hut, building and equipment maintenance. It also provides a scholarship fund for boys who wouldn’t be able to afford the uniform or camping trips, Lennox said.

In return, the Boy Scouts use some of the money to complete community service projects such as litter pick up in downtown Flowery Branch, the Shore Sweep for Lake Lanier and building benches in local neighborhoods.
