Art from Georgia Schools: NGCSU Annual Exhibition of Georgia Art Educators and their Students

Area talent goes on display in the annual Art from Georgia Schools exhibit.

North Georgia College & State University, dedicated Georgia art teachers and their students present two- and three-dimensional works in various media.

The annual event, on display through Jan. 23, features both novice and seasoned artists from across North Georgia.

Art educators will showcase their own work and invite one student to exhibit by their side.

A reception and award ceremony will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. today at the Library and Technology Center on the North Georgia College & State University campus in Dahlonega.

Best-in-Show prizes and Honorable Mentions will be awarded for educators and students.

This year’s exhibitors come from Gainesville High School, Habersham Central High School, Lumpkin County High School, Druid Hills High School, Etowah High School, Forsyth Central High School, North Forsyth High School, North Gwinnett High School, Teasley Middle School and Woodward Academy Middle School.

Acting as the juror of the exhibition is John Amoss, chairman of visual arts at Gainesville State College.
