Classic cars, competitive runners and creative float makers will roll or race into Clarkesville to participate in the activities of the 53rd annual Mountain Laurel Festival. The Mountain Laurel Festival will begin Friday, May 15, with a street dance from 5-7 p.m. The American Flyers Show Bank will follow from 7-9 p.m. and fireworks will end the evening at 9 p.m. On Saturday, a 5K race will kick off activities at 8:30 a.m. at Clarkesville Elementary School at 6539 Ga. 115. The Kids Fun Run is set for 8 a.m. and cost $10 per child from ages 5 to 12.
