A new co-working space has officially opened inside The Times building, bringing a modern, flexible and affordable workspace to downtown Gainesville.
Pressworks Work Club welcomed community members during an open house Thursday, April 2, offering a first look at the space as it begins operations.
The 24/7 co-working hub is designed for professionals, entrepreneurs and creatives looking for an alternative to traditional office settings.
The space blends industrial and organic design elements, with natural wood tones, leather seating, greenery and soft lighting aimed at creating a comfortable, productive environment.
Throughout the space, members will find a range of work areas, including group tables, booths, high-top seating and lounge-style couches.
Additional amenities include a quiet room for focused work, sound-dampening phone booths, an eight-seat conference room and a podcast studio equipped with microphones and a soundboard.
The design also pays tribute to the building’s history as the former home of The Times printing press. Vintage newspapers, printing materials and other memorabilia are displayed throughout the space as a nod to that legacy.
Pressworks offers 24/7 keycard access, high-speed Wi-Fi, a coffee bar and on-site parking. Members can also choose from six private offices, available furnished or unfurnished.
Located within walking distance of the downtown square, the space provides easy access to nearby restaurants and shops, while also offering an in-house breakroom with kitchen amenities for those who prefer to stay on site.
Memberships start at $100 per month on a no-contract, month-to-month basis, though the first 25 founding members can take advantage of a discounted rate of $50 per month for the first year.
