In appreciation and honor of veterans in Northeast Georgia, the city of Helen is hosting a picnic for U.S. military veterans and their family next week. “A Day in the Park” will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Helen’s Riverside Park along the Chattahoochee River on Edelweiss Strasse. Guests will bite into hamburgers, hot dogs and all the fixin’s.
