Sterling on the Lake brings back music under the stars for the third annual "Songs 4 Summer" concert series beginning Saturday.

From 7 to 10 p.m. the first three Saturdays of the month, the concert series will fill Sterling's Village Green with live music, family fun, picnicking and giveaways.

"We started ‘Songs 4 Summer' to celebrate our five-year anniversary (in 2009) and to reach out into the local community through our Sterling Life organization. We want Sterling on the Lake to be viewed as more than just a place to live, but also a social catalyst in Flowery Branch," promoter Anne Thomas said.

"Since Sterling on the Lake opened in 2004, we've created a number of programs and special events that bring the local community together. ‘Songs 4 Summer' has been one of our most popular events. For the past three years we've averaged around 1,100 per concert, which is great."

Saturday's concert will feature classic rock from Terry Lee and the GTs. Back by popular demand, '80s night on June 11 will feature songs of the decade from 80'Z Enuff.

The concert series concludes June 18 when the Coconut Groove Band takes the stage with easygoing beach music and Jimmy Buffett cover tunes.

In addition to live music, the concerts will have prize giveaways via onsite text-to-win. Concertgoers can win rounds of golf at Lake Lanier Islands or family water park passes by texting SterlingConcerts to 90210. More details will be available at the concerts.

All concerts are free and open to the public. Parking is free for residents, $5 per car for nonresidents.

Parking proceeds will be donated to Sterling on the community's nonprofit organization, Sterling Life, which helps fund various educational, cultural, environmental and recreational activities and events for the community.
