For 15 years, the Sautee Nacoochee Community Association has opened its historic gym doors to let contra dancers strut their stuff on a monthly basis.

Now, the SNCA will host a 15th anniversary celebration at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 21, in the gym at 283 Ga. 255 N in Sautee Nacoochee.

The celebration will begin with a community potluck meal at 6:15 p.m. Participants are asked to bring food to share and a chair or blanket. Utensils and water will be provided.

Then the dancing will start with a free lesson at 7:30 p.m. followed by contra dance from 8-11 p.m.

The Ale Raisers — including band members Joe Willey on banjo, Justin Manglitz on fiddle and Dave Dowless on guitar — will perform. Jesse Edgerton will be the caller.

Admission is $7 for SNCA members, $9 for nonmembers, $5 for students and free for children 12 and younger.
