Hall County’s self-professed largest yard sale will open its doors at a new location Oct. 4 this year.

The Junior League of Gainesville-Hall County’s 49th annual Thrift Sale is moving from the Brenau Downtown Center to the Gainesville Civic Center. The sale was moved since Brenau started renovating the downtown space into classrooms.

But as usual, the sale features merchandise including furniture, electronics, toys, clothes, housewares and much more. The annual event provides members of the community with the opportunity to buy needed items at affordable prices.

Admission is $1.  Organizers ask shoppers not to bring strollers.

Proceeds support the services and programs of the Junior League, such as the monthly food distribution to more than 100 families.

Junior League members will prepare for the sale next week and open with double-price shopping day Oct. 2. Hours will be 5-8 p.m. with admission costing $5 for a sneak peek.

The sale day will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 4, at 830 Green Street NE in Gainesville.
