Chorus Line kicks its way into Cumming
Placeholder Image

One step, kick and jump at a time, dancers audition with all of their might for a shot at winning a part on the Great White Way.

This storyline is a common one but one that works as a musical in “A Chorus Line,” which will run through May 17 at the historic Cumming Playhouse.

The musical is more than just a dance fest. It is the story of struggling young dancers who want a job and who work long and hard during an audition, during which they reluctantly tell the director their life stories.

“A Chorus Line” hit Broadway in 1975 and brought musicals — which were on their last legs, it seemed — back to the Great White Way.

Showtimes are 8 p.m. Thursdays, Friday and Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays at 101 School St. in Cumming.

Tickets are $27.50 for adults and $25 for seniors and students. Tickets may be purchased at www.playhousecumming.com or by calling 770-781-9178.
