Mixing musical genres from old-time rock ’n’ roll to bluegrass is part of the repertoire of the Atlanta-based group Banks & Shane.

Residents and visitors to Northeast Georgia will have the chance to hear that sound during a concert at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Holly Theater in downtown Dahlonega. Tickets are $20-$27 and available online at www.hollytheater.com or at the door at 69 W. Main St. in Dahlonega.

Banks & Shane is a world-renowned band that has played with and opened for some of the biggest acts in history and is frequently joined by some of Atlanta’s best musicians to augment its classic sound.

Band members are Banks Burgess on banjo and guitar, Paul Shane on guitar and trombone, Chuck Shane on drums and bass and Jim Durand on electric and acoustic guitars.

Burgess and Paul Shane began playing music in Atlanta in August 1972. Throughout the years, they have performed around the United States and in international cities such as Munich, Frankfurt, Amsterdam and London. The band has performed in nightclubs and at ski resorts as well as on concert stages.
