Atlanta-based musicians Banks Burgess and Paul Shane will pluck their bangos, strum their guitars and basses, blow their trombone and bang their drums in concert for a cause.

Banks & Shane will perform a fundraising concert for My Sister’s Place from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, at Chattahoochee Country Club, 3000 Club Drive, in Gainesville.

Banks & Shane band includes Burgess on banjo and guitar, Shane on guitar and trombone, Chuck Shane on drums and bass and Jim Durand on electric and acoustic guitars. The group is frequently joined by some of Atlanta’s best musicians to augment the classic Banks & Shane sound. Throughout the years, the band has performed across the United States and around the world, on concert stages, nightclubs and ski resorts. Banks & Shane has recorded 12 albums since 1972.

To hear them and raise money for My Sister’s Place, tickets are $75 per person or $750 for a reserved table of eight.

My Sister’s Place provides a nurturing home, transportation assistance, nutritious meals and other basic necessities to the single women and mothers with children. The organization offers life skills workshops, case management, counseling and tools.
