The Historic Buford Art & Jazz Festival will bring local and professional jazz musicians to downtown Buford from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday.

Mary Hines, a member of the Buford Business Alliance, said visitors can see artists demonstrating in various media, and local restaurants will have food available for sale.

Jazz bands from Flowery Branch High School, Lanier Middle School and Buford middle and high schools will be among the groups performing throughout the day in the amphitheater in front of the Bona Allen Mansion.

At 7 p.m., Atlanta-based Capital City Xpress will take the stage, followed by Daniel Jackson Explosion and bass player Russel Blake.

Blake has performed with Harry Belafonte, Chaka Khan and Wynton Marsalis and was a bassist for the Broadway production of Dream Girls.
