Carolina beach music and shag dance lessons are highlights of the Chateau Elan Summer Concert Series, which kicks off this Sunday.

The series begins with a performance from Pieces of Eight and continues with six more performances from the bands Swingin' Medallions, The Jesters, The Tams, Holiday Band and The Embers. Another performance from Swingin' Medallions will close out the series Aug. 31.

The dance lessons begin at 7:30 p.m. and are included in the ticket price, according to Paul Deboer, marketing coordinator for Chateau Elan.

Concertgoers can bring picnic baskets and a cash bar will also be available.
