West Hall grad leads Piedmont

The Piedmont College women’s soccer team remained undefeated in the Great South Athletic Conference with a 5-0 victory over Wesleyan College on Thursday at Walker Field in Demorest.

West Hall graduate Katie Porter kicked in the first goal for Piedmont (9-2, 3-0 GSAC) in the first four minutes of the game off a pass from Macie Rooke.

Senior Casey Lovelady, another West Hall grad, added her fifth goal of the year and Justine Clay notched an insurance goal late in the first half en route to the Lady Lions’ win. Clay and Rooke also posted a goal each in the second half to cap the scoring.

The Lady Lions visit Salem College at 1 p.m. today in Winston-Salem, N.C.
