Truett-McConnell baseball knocks off Toccoa Falls

Tyler Bourdo had five hits and three RBIs for the Truett-McConnell College baseball team in a 12-6 win against Toccoa Falls College on Wednesday in Toccoa. Teddy Leverett had three hits and three RBIs for the Bears, and Terrell Jones was 2-for-4 with two runs driven in.

Brad Mills and Buck Harris connected on back-to-back home runs for Truett-McConnell in the fifth inning, helping build a 10-1 lead.

Chris Swancey, a Jefferson High grad, was the winning pitcher for the Bears, who used nine pitchers on the night. Truett-McConnell faces Virginia Intermont at 2 p.m. Friday in Cleveland.
