Travelers forge a doubleheader split

The Gainesville Travelers summer baseball team split a doubleheader with the Windward Blue Braves on Saturday at West Forsyth High School in Cumming.

The Travelers trailed by seven runs in the first game but rallied to tie the score in the seventh inning before eventually falling, 8-7, in eight innings.

North Hall graduate Josh Wright picked up the win in the second game as Gainesville rushed to an early nine-run lead and cruised to a 9-4 victory.

The Travelers meet the Blue Braves again at 7 p.m. Tuesday at West Forsyth.
