Wayne Bennett made a hole-in-one at the Village No. 7 hole at Chicopee Woods Golf Course on March 16.
Bennett used a 7-iron and a Precept ball. Jimmy Locklear and Tommy Calhoun witnessed Bennett’s ace.
CMGA: Gene Weschler and Jack Costello tied for first place in the First Flight of the Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association’s individual flighted competition last Wednesday at Chattahoochee Golf Course, with Jerry Shell taking third.
Jim Carroll won the Second Flight, followed by Larry Cohan in second and Chuck Keith in third.
Dave Gleason prevailed in the Third Flight, followed by a three-way tie for second among J.B. Johnston, Dave Griffin and Bill Oliver.
Closest-to-the-pin winners were: Cohan (No. 3), Oliver (No. 5), Karwoski (No. 12) and Carroll (No. 17).
LUNA’S TUESDAY: The Luna’s Tuesday golf group played at Royal Lakes Golf Course last week.
Gene Weschler, Cleve Brown, Leggs Clark and Johnny Nix teamed up for first place. The group of Stan Davidson Jr., Tommy Lowery, Richard Strickland and Jim Cornett came in second.
The team of Daryl Dunckel, Tom Sexton, Larry Miller, and Chris Blauvelt and the team of Joe Roberts, Karl Steigele and Doug Van tied for third.
Closest-to-the-pin winners were Roberts (No. 4), Sexton (No. 8), Davidson (No. 14) and Strickland (No.16).
CHICOPEE WOODS DOGFIGHT: The team of Ron Melin, Tommy Calhoun, Vince Jonte’ and Kevin Stackis took first place in best three of four net scores in last Wednesday’s Chicopee Woods Dogfight.
Greg Lee, Michael Thomas, Don Schrum and Keith Fitzpatrick finished second, and in third was the group of Roger Stapp, Dan Arthurs, Cleve Sexton and Geoff Archibald.
Stackis took top individual net score honors, with Tommy Calhoun and Cleve Sexton tying for second.
REUNION SENIOR MEN: The Reunion Senior Men’s Golf Association held a March Madness Points Blitz tournament on March 11.
The team of Gene Cronic, Larry Beckman, John Dayton and Ted Sawyer won the modified Stableford points event. Richard Kreusch, Wendel Peterson, Richard Anderson and Lawrence Viola took second.
The team of Austry Smith, Bob Wischerth, David Moreshead and George Klisures was third.
Viola and Sawyer won closest-to-the-pin prizes.
