Lanierland is in the rearview, but local teams aren't finished with tournament play just yet.

Both the North Hall and Johnson girls and boys teams will play in the Johnson Holiday Shootout, beginning this week at Johnson High.

The North Hall teams will get started on Wednesday against Forsyth Central, while Johnson will face North Forsyth.

The two teams will swap opponents on Thursday.

Outside of tournament play, White County will face Lakeview Academy on Friday, and West Hall will play North Hall on the same day.

WRESTLING: A number of area teams will play in wrestling invitationals this week, beginning with Commerce on Tuesday. Commerce will take part in the George Thompson Invitational, which ends on Wednesday.

Jackson County will compete in the Toombs County duals, North Hall will be in the Longhorn Tournament at Lambert, and Flowery Branch in the Hurricane Duals in Monroe.

Buford, Dawson County and Towns County will compete at the Amicalola Classic, Lumpkin County will face off in the Lambert Holiday Bash, and Jefferson will travel to Rochester, Minn., to take part in the Clash.

ATLANTA FALCONS: With a playoff berth on the line, the Atlanta Falcons will travel to take on the Saints tonight in New Orleans.

Saints quarterback Drew Brees is chasing Dan Marino's record for most passing yards in a season. He would pass that mark with 305 yards against the Falcons.

Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m.

ATLANTA HAWKS: After a delay to the season's start, the Hawks will finally tip off against the New Jersey Nets on Tuesday. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
