Lumpkin County wins state riflery championship

Led by senior Charles Tritt and coach, Sgt. Ron Fugate, the Lumpkin County High School riflery team won the program’s first GHSA state title Saturday at Fort Benning. Tritt won the individual title with a score of 390.6 to put the Indians over the top. The final team score ended in a dead heat with Madison County, 1,130-1,130.
