GAINESVILLE -- Lumpkin County is right where it wants to be with three games left in the season. The Indians (5-2, 2-0 Region 7A-AAA) control their own destiny after a 48-6 win against East Hall Friday night at Valhalla.

Lumpkin County can be happy with its accomplishments but the road now gets a lot harder.

The Indians visit No. 4 ranked North Hall (7-0, 2-0) next Friday at the Brickyard.

On Friday, Lumpkin County's Ken Jackson sparked its running game with 102 yards and two touchdowns (9 and 33 yards). Cameron Jackson also found his way into the mix for the Indians with 82 yards and touchdown runs of 1 and 23 yards.

Lumpkin County finished with 314 rushing yards.

"I'm proud of the way we executed, they played hard, anytime you run the way we did it means the offensive line did good," Lumpkin County coach Tommy Jones said.

Chad Fulton and Haden Rider also had rushing touchdowns for the Indians.

The offensive line blocked for six rushing touchdowns, but it was Lumpkin's defense that really made the difference. Lumpkin County had an interception and forced four fumbles while recovering three of them.
The Indians only allowed one touchdown the entire game. East Hall's Chris Duong hauled in a 25 yard pass from Desmon Gardner after two Lumpkin County players tipped a pass in the end zone.

Chris Ingram led the Vikings (0-7, 0-2) with 34 rushing yards.

East Hall visits White County next Friday in Cleveland.
