Fresh off a 28-point performance on Friday night, West Hall senior Kavon Williams scored 19 points in a 58-50 win against Habersham Central on Saturday night in Mount Airy.
With the win, the Spartans are now 14-1 heading into Tuesday’s subregion opener at West Forsyth.
West Hall sophomore Shunquez Stephens finished with 15 points and senior Marquise Stephens added eight against the Raiders.
Kevin Queen, a senior, led Habersham Central with 17 points.
Habersham Central visits Cedar Shoals at 8:30 p.m. on Friday in Athens.
Habersham Central girls 48, West Hall 45
Despite 11-point efforts by Jayla Moon, Bailey Soucie and Emily Hammond, the West Hall Lady Spartans lost in overtime against Habersham Central on Saturday in Mount Airy.
Hammond hit three 3-pointers for the Lady Spartans (6-8).
A close game throughout, the Lady Raiders outscored West Hall 6-3 in the pivotal overtime period to win the game.
Habersham Central was led by Chloe McAllister’s 11 points and Chelsea Smith’s 10.
West Hall visits West Forsyth at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Habersham Central visits Cedar Shoals at 8:30 p.m. Friday in Athens.
Lakeview Academy girls 48, Tallulah Falls 22
Maddie Haymore led the Lady Lions to victory with 17 points and Brittany Moore added 11 on Saturday in Tallulah Falls.
Defense played an integral role in the Lady Lions’ win as Lakeview Academy (8-3, 6-0 Region 8-AA) limited Tallulah Falls to single-digit scoring in each quarter, including zero points in the second.
Lakeview Academy plays host to Social Circle at 6 p.m. on Tuesday in Gainesville.
Lakeview Academy boys 58, Tallulah Falls 17
Jordan Chastain was the game’s only scorer in double figures with 10 points on Saturday.
The Lions (9-6, 5-1 Region 8-AA) opened the game by outscoring Tallulah Falls 22-1 in the first quarter.
The Lions had 15 different players score in the game.

Buford girls 44, Flowery Branch 20
Blance Alverson scored a game-high 12 points and Andraya Carter added 10 to lead Class AA’s third-ranked team to a 24-point win on Saturday in Buford.
Jessica Harper led Flowery Branch (3-8) with seven points.
Buford (11-1, 3-0 Region 6-AA) plays host to Greater Atlanta Christian at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The Lady Falcons play host to Gainesville at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Flowery Branch boys 83, Buford 73
Behind Ishmael Hollis’ career-high 26 points, the Flowery Branch Falcons snapped their five-game losing streak with a win over the Wolves on Saturday in Buford.
Josh Barrett scored 19 points and Kyle Smith added 13 for the Falcons (5-6).
Buford (2-8) was led by Ja’Kar Bridges, who scored 18 points. Ryan Reed (16 points), Tyshawn Holley (13) and Zac Lynn (11) also scored in double figures for the Wolves.
Flowery Branch plays host to Gainesville at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, while Buford plays host to Greater Atlanta Christian at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
East Hall girls 42, Centennial 25
Hannah Strickland scored a team-high nine points to lead the Lady Vikings to a win on Saturday in Gainesville.
The Lady Vikings (7-5) used an 11-5 run in the second quarter to take a commanding lead over Centennial.
East Hall plays host to Johnson at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Dawson County boys 67, Sonoraville 49
Seth Stowers scored a team-high 17 points and Stephen Scaife added 15 points in the Tigers win over Sonoraville on Saturday in Dawsonville.
Blythe Chester chipped in with 10 points for Dawson County (9-3, 3-0 Region 8-AA).
The Tigers visit Union County at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Sonoraville girls 42, Dawson County 32
Morgan Bennett scored eight points and Judith Hall and Jessi Phillips each scored seven in the Lady Tigers’ loss to Sonoraville on Saturday in Dawsonville.
The Lady Tigers (4-8) visit Union County at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Dawson County girls 44, East Jackson 35 (Friday)
Morgan Bennett, Jessi Phillips and Cheyenne Bennett each scored nine points to lead the Lady Tigers to a win over East Jackson on Friday in Dawsonville.
Judith Hall added six points for Dawson County (4-7).
Mikki McGinnis led East Jackson with eight points.
North Hall boys 54, Creekview 44 (Friday)
The North Hall Trojans improved to 3-0 in Region 7A-AAA with a 10-point win over the Grizzlies on Friday night in Canton.
Chase Syfan led the Trojans (9-5, 3-0 Region 7A-AAA) with 10 points.
North Hall plays host to Gilmer at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Banks County boys 55, Union County 51 (Friday)
Kasey Hudgins scored 12 points to lead the Leopards past Union County on Friday night in Blairsville.
Ryan Griffin added 11 points for Banks County (10-3, 2-1 Region 8-AA).
Banks County visits Oglethorpe County at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
