Riverside Military allowed a 3-pointer by Rabun County with just eight seconds left to go down 63-60, then the Eagles missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer in the Region 8-AA championship game Saturday in Tiger. Javon Thompson made 12 of 13 shots for the Eagles, and scored a game-high 31 points.

Riverside Military went on an 11-2 run in the second quarter to lead 33-21 going into halftime.

Davis Short finished with 11 points for the Eagles. On Tuesday, Riverside Military plays host to a first-round playoff opponent still to be determined.

MADISON COUNTY GIRLS 56, NORTH HALL 39: Niki Carver led the Lady Trojans with nine points in the Region 8-AAAA third place game on Saturday at Stephens County High. With the loss, North Hall opens the postseason with a trip to Carrollton at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

EAST HALL BOYS 7, ELBERT COUNTY 0 (Friday): Leo Toledo scored four goals with an assist for the Vikings on Friday. Sergio Turcios chipped in a goal with a pair of assists for the Vikings.

EAST HALL GIRLS 1, ELBERT COUNTY 0 (Friday): Anna Elizarraiaz scored the only goal for the Lady Vikings on an assist from Kimberly Quintanilla on Friday. Marianna Hernandez had eight saves for East Hall in the goal.

On Tuesday, East Hall visits White County in a doubleheader starting at 5:30 p.m.
