Aaron George fired a 1-under par 35 to lead the Lumpkin County boys golf team to a second-round score of 169 in the Indians' tri-match tournament with North Forsyth and Johnson on Monday at Hampton Golf Course in Cumming.

Lumpkin County currently holds the lead in the three-date tournament, with a two-day total of 328, three strokes ahead of North Forsyth's 331. Johnson is currently in third at 381.

The three schools play three matches throughout the season, with each team hosting one event at its home course. The final match of the tournament will be played March 25 at Royal Lakes Golf Course.

Austin Booker (39), Joseph Jarrard (45) and Rhett Stringer (50) also carded Monday for Lumpkin County, which faces Franklin County at 4 p.m. today at Achasta Golf Course in Dahlonega. Luke James carded a 40 to lead Johnson.
GAINESVILLE GIRLS TOP WHITE COUNTY: The Lady Red Elephants beat the Lady Warriors 83-92 at Mossey Creek Golf Club in Cleveland. Medalist Meg Callahan shot a 7-over 41 and LeeAnn McDonald shot a 42 for Gainesville. Kathryn Whitaker (45) and Brittan Slaton (47) placed for White County.

The Lady Red Elephants host Johnson and St. Pius at the Chattahooche Golf Course 4 p.m. today.

Baseball
NORTH HALL 11, LANIER 1 (6 inn.): The Trojans (4-1, 3-0 Region 8-AAA) got two RBIs each from Eli Gilmer and Wade Phillips. Chris Stevens picked up the win and also hit a triple.
North Hall plays Franklin County at home 5:55 p.m. Friday.
LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 12, ST. FRANCIS 4 (6 inn.): Nick Drury went 3-for-4 and hit two home runs, drove in four runs and scored three times and Spencer Sorrels went 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBIs for the Lions (12-4).

Derek Fadool picked up the win from the mound and went 2-for-3 with three RBIs from the plate.

Lakeview plays Prince Avenue 5:30 p.m. today.
CHESTATEE 5, WEST HALL 2: Alex Moore had a no-hitter through six innings and Scott Chewning went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base to the lead Chestatee to the win Monday at War Eagle Park. Zack Sweet drove in one run and Josh Turner had two hits for Chestatee, which visits White County at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday.
JEFFERSON 7, OGLETHORPE COUNTY 0: Kevin Ross went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Jason Demos added a home run and two RBIs to lead the Dragons to the win Monday in Jefferson. Andrew Bartek added two hits and two runs scored for Jefferson (2-2, 1-1 Region 8A-AA), which visits North Oconee at 5:55 p.m. today.
