White County’s girls soccer team remained undefeated on the season with a 7-0 win over Murray County in the Mountain Madness Tournament at Fannin County
The Lady Warriors (6-0) got three goals from Kaitlyn Gearing and two goals each from Kaitlyn Hooper and Kayla Everett. Megan Runkle earned a shutout, although Murray County didn’t get off a shot attempt the entire game.
White County hosts Lanier at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and returns to the Mountain Madness tourney next Saturday to play Fannin County and Ringgold.
Golf
Habersham Central led area schools with a fourth-place at the Apple Mountain Invitiational.
The Raiders shot a 311 to finish behind Greater Atlanta Christian (310), Lambert (309) and first place Peachtree Ridge (301). They were led by Jake Price, who shot a 74, followed by Jake Brooks (77), Tanner Batson (79) and Greg Reabold (81).
Gainesville finished seventh with a 315, led by Will Frankum (77), Carson Brown and Parks Brown and Pep Brown (80). Gainesville’s JV team tied for ninth (324) and were led by Nathan Williams (81), Webber Wycoff (82), Reeves Bell (83) and Grant Lasseter (78).
White County finished 12th (328) led by John Luna (73), Eli Crumley (78), Austin Shelnut (86) and Austin Brown (95).
Buford finished 20th (360) led by David Brendel (86), Tanner Corley (87), Jake Mitchell (92) and Lucus Thompson (95).
Habersham’s JV team took 21st place in the 23-team field with a 373 led by Jared Brooks (86), Jordan Krippner (90), Blake Gaddis (96) and Josh Cantrell (101).
