The East Hall High baseball team beat Johnson 8-1 on the strength of a five-run sixth inning Saturday at East Hall Park.

Hunter Strange stole home, Jeremy Walls and Jack Hagwood added RBI singles and an error scored two more Vikings runs in the sixth.

Eli Stuart allowed no earned runs on two hits in 3 2/3 innings for East Hall.

Jonah Crocker had an RBI triple for the Vikings, with Ronnie Peebles adding an RBI single.

WEST HALL 3, LUMPKIN COUNTY 2: The Spartans earned a 3-2 nine-inning home win on Friday night.

A Josh Anderson double set up Cole Wilson’s game-winning sacrifice fly as the Spartans improved to 6-4 overall and 4-1 in Region 7-AAA play.

Kyle Reynolds tossed two scoreless innings of relief with three strikeouts to pick up the pitching victory. Jeff Jenkins pitched the first seven innings for West Hall, allowing two runs on five hits in a no-decision.

The Spartans host Banks County at 5:55 p.m. Monday.

CHESTATEE 13, JOHNSON 6: The War Eagles piled up 15 hits, including five doubles, in a Region 8-AAAA win against their Hall County rival on Friday night.

Mikey Petraroi (3 for 4, 2 RBIs, 2 runs) and Joe Sutton (3 for 4, RBI, 2 runs) paced the Chestatee offense, with Caleb

Jameson (2 for 4, 2 doubles, 2 RBIs) and Peyton Rider (2 for 4, 2 RBIs) also coming up with multi-hit performances.

Rider earned the pitching victory, surrendering one run on one hit in two innings.

Chestatee (6-4, 2-0) hosts North Oconee at 5:55 p.m. Monday.

JEFFERSON 4-7, OCONEE COUNTY 2-2: The Dragons won a pair of games in Watkinsville on Friday night in Region 8-AAA action.

Ethan Garner and Taylor Wilkes picked up the pitching wins for Jefferson (9-2, 5-1 Region 8-AAA).

Wilkes tossed five innings, allowing two earned runs on six hits and four walks with four strikeouts, plus had two hits and three runs offensively in the second game. He had three hits and a run in the first contest.

Will Breese added two hits, two runs and an RBI in the first game.

Garner went all seven innings for the complete-game pitching win in the first game. He allowed two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out 10.

The Dragons play at East Jackson on Tuesday.

EAST HALL BOYS 11, FRANKLIN COUNTY 1: Leo Toledo tallied a school-record eight goals and an assist to pace the Vikings (7-3-1, 2-0) to a Region 7-AAA victory on Friday in Carnesville. Toledo now has a school-record 28 goals through 11 matches.

Oskar Mejia supplied two goals, with Carlos Castrejon chipping in a goal and an assist. Sherman Lucero finished with six assists for East Hall.

The Vikings soccer teams return to action against Lumpkin County in Dahlonega on Tuesday, with the girls playing at 5:30 p.m. and the boys at 7:30 p.m.

EAST HALL GIRLS 7, FRANKLIN COUNTY 2: Yoselin Vega scored four goals as the Lady Vikings (2-9, 2-0) earned their second Region 7-AAA win of the season Friday night in Carnesville. It’s the first time the program has won multiple region games in a season. Jancy Almendares added two goals and an assist, with Lauren Pope contributing a goal and an assist.

Kimberly Quintanilla, Jenny Jimenez and Jazmine Marillo each had an assist for East Hall.
