Pearson hits milestone in Lakeview win

Senior Austin Pearson scored a game-high 20 points for Lakeview Academy (14-3, 8-0 Region 8A-A) and his 1000th career-point in a 66-33 win against Prince Avenue Christian on Friday night in Gainesville. Junior Austin Montgomery finished with 17 points for the Lions.

Lakeview Academy visits Riverside Military at 2:30 p.m. today.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY GIRLS 34, PRINCE AVENUE CHRISTIAN 30: Taylor Handte led the Lady Lions (11-6, 6-2 Region 8A-A) with 12 points Friday night in Gainesville. Senior Mona Abraham added 10 points for Lakeview.

The Lady Lions visit Social Circle at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

NORTH HALL GIRLS 70, STEPHENS COUNTY 47: Sydney Cleveland led the Lady Trojans (14-5, 5-0 Region 8-AAA North) with a game-high 20 points and 11 rebounds Friday night in Toccoa. Mary Kate Rushton scored 14 points and McKenna Rushton finished with 11 and pulled down nine rebounds.

North Hall hosts Chestatee at 6 tonight.

JOHNSON BOYS 71, OCONEE COUNTY 45: The Knights were led by Matt Hollis with a game-high 26 points and seven assists Friday night in Watkinsville.

Senior Ty Odem scored 16 points and Junior Montrell McKenzie finished with 13 points, 20 rebounds and seven blocks for Johnson.

The Knights will host West Hall at 7:30 tonight in Oakwood.

BUFORD GIRLS 78, WESTMINSTER 22: Kallie Case led the Lady Wolves with a team-high 14 points (11-7, 7-0 Region 6A-AA) and Kaela Davis finished with 13 points Friday night in Buford. Senior Andraya Carter added eight points for the Lady Wolves in her first appearance of the season due to an ACL injury.

Buford hosts Lovett at 6 p.m. tonight.

FLOWERY BRANCH BOYS 48, WINDER BARROW 42: Jamaad Stephens scored 20 points to lead the Falcons (9-10, 3-2 Region 8-AAAA North) Friday night in Flowery Branch. Drew Miles added 13 points for the Falcons.

The Lady Falcons will visit Jefferson at 7:30 tonight.

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 57, WINDER BARROW 44: Cara Chilton led the Lady Falcons with 17 points, eight rebounds and two steals Friday night in Flowery Branch. Marissa Ivey scored 14 points and pulled down five rebounds, and juniors Jacy Ramey and Tavia Sykes finished with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

The Lady Falcons visit Jefferson at 6 tonight.

WHITE COUNTY GIRLS 40, CHESTATEE 35: Erin Clifford led the Lady War Eagles (12-6, 2-3 Region 8-AAA North) with 11 points Friday night in Cleveland.

After an even first quarter, the Lady Warriors started to slip ahead in the second, outscoring Chestatee 15-11.

The Lady War Eagles will visit North Hall at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN BOYS 63, GRACE BAPTIST 23: Trey Collins scored a team-high 20 points and pulled down six rebounds for the Chargers (11-7, 5-2) on Friday night in Gainesville. North Georgia Christian’s Aaron Willis added 14 points and Dylan Boonstra led the team with nine rebounds.

The Chargers will host Heritage Academy at 6 p.m. Monday.

NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN GIRLS 48, GRACE BAPTIST 31: Julianne Sutton scored a team-high 15 points for the Lady Chargers (8-1) on Friday night in Gainesville.

Jordan Ball added 10 points for North Georgia Christian.

The Lady Chargers host Heritage Academy on Monday.

DAWSON COUNTY BOYS 43, UNION COUNTY 27: Tyler Dominy scored a game-high 13 points for the Tigers (15-4, 2-2 Region 8-AA North) on Friday night in Blairsville.

Zach Odom added nine points for the Panthers.

Dawson County was trailing 23-18 at the end of the first half but came back and outscored Union County 24-4 in the second.

Dawson County visits Banks County at 7:30 on Tuesday in Homer and Union County visits East Hall at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Gainesville.

UNION COUNTY GIRLS 56, DAWSON COUNTY 41: Lauren Zollinger scored a game-high 16 points to lead the Lady Panthers (16-3, 3-1 Region 8-AA North) on Friday night in Blairsville. Seniors Rebecka Merrit had 15 points and Callie Payne finished with 12 points for Union County.

Carly Gilreath and Allie Costley each scored 10 points for the Lady Tigers.

Union County visits East Hall at 6 p.m. on Tuesday in Gainesville and Dawson county visits Banks County at 6 p.m. on Tuesday in Homer.

GAINESVILLE BOYS 81, MONROE AREA 59: Shaquan Cantrell led the Red Elephants (13-7, 7-1 Region 8-AAA South) with 22 points, five rebounds and four assists Friday night in Gainesville. Lance White scored 12 points for the Red Elephants and sophomore Deshaun Watson and junior Chase England finished with 11 points each.

Ken Jackson led all scorers with 37 points for the Hurricanes.

The Red Elephants will visit Walnut Grove at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Loganville.

NORTH HALL BOYS 52, STEPHENS COUNTY 43: The Trojans (16-3, 5-0 Region 8-AAA North) were led by junior Ebo Smith with 20 points Friday night in Gainesville. Freshman Avery Cagle added 16 points for North Hall.

The Trojans will host Chestatee at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
