Hollis leads Johnson in win

Matt Hollis led Johnson (11-3, 3-8 Region 8B-AAA) with a game-high 18 points and Montrell McKenzie recorded 11 points with 14 rebounds in a 68-58 win against Lanier on Friday in Oakwood. A.J. Benefield added 11 points and nine rebounds for the Knights and Ty Odem also scored 11 points.

Lanier (12-12, 4-7 Region 8B-AAA) was led by M.J. Bryant with 15 points and Andre Irvin finished with 12.

Johnson led 41-29 at halftime, but Lanier came out and controlled the third quarter by outscoring the Knights 19-9 and cut the deficit to 50-48. Johnson outscored Lanier 18-10 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Johnson hosts Oconee County at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Oakwood.

WEST HALL GIRLS 61, MONROE AREA 38: Macy Tullis scored 14 points while pulling down 12 rebounds for the Lady Spartans (11-15, 8-4 Region 8-AAA South) Friday night in Oakwood. Maia Booker added 14 points and Brooke Reed finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds for West Hall to conclude its regular season schedule.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 83, TOWNS COUNTY 21: Austin Pearson led the Lions (18-4, 12-1 Region 8-A) with a game-high 12 points Friday night in Gainesville. Joel Larsen added 11 points and Derek Fadool finished with 10 for Lakeview Academy.

The Lions visit Commerce at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, while Towns County visits Riverside Military Academy at 6 p.m. Saturday.

TOWNS COUNTY GIRLS 72, LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 40: Stephanie Patton led the Lady Indians with a game-high 19 points Friday night in Gainesville. Gabby Arenciba added 17 points, Ali Bleckley scored 11 and Eryn Cochran and Dadrain Blythe each finished with 10 for Towns County.

Taylor Handte led the Lady Lions (13-8, 8-4 Region 8-A) with a team-high 14 points and Kelsey Gilbert added 10.

Towns County visits Commerce at 6 p.m. Tuesday and Lakeview visits Commerce 6 p.m. Saturday.

BUFORD BOYS 85, CROSS KEYS 18: A.J. Davis led the Wolves (17-5, 11-1 Region 6A-AA) with 18 points and Kyle Kellem added 11 Friday night in Buford.

Buford hosts Maynard Jackson at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

BUFORD GIRLS 62, CROSS KEY 4: Ceely Coker led the Lady Wolves (16-7, 12-0 Region 6A-AA) with a game-high 16 points Friday night in Buford. Bree Horrocks added 14 points for the Lady Wolves.

Buford hosts Maynard Jackson at 3 p.m. Saturday.

NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN BOYS 46, BRANDON HALL 42: Sam Mudnchen led the Chargers with 16 points, seven rebounds and three blocks in their last regular season game Friday night in Atlanta. Trey Collins added 10 points for North Georgia Christian.

The Chargers host Ballard at 7 p.m. Friday for their first region tournament game.

CHESTATEE GIRLS 49, LUMPKIN COUNTY 34: Bridgette Kelly led the Lady War Eagles (15-9, 5-4 Region 8-AAA North) with a team-high 13 points Friday night in Dahlonega. Maegan Kenimer and Savanna Long each added 10 points for Chestatee.

Chestatee hosts White County at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

EAST HALL GIRLS 59, FANNIN COUNTY 37: Jasmine Jenkins led the Lady Vikings (19-3) with a team-high 14 points Friday night in Gainesville. Jatasia Bailey added 12 points and Morgan Jackson finished with 10 for East Hall.

East Hall hosts Gainesville at 6 p.m. Saturday.

EAST HALL BOYS 83, FANNIN COUNTY 40: J.C. Hampton led the Vikings with a game-high 18 points Friday night in Gainesville. Quay Jarrells and Brian Edwards each added 13 points for East Hall.

The Vikings host Gainesville at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

CLARKE CENTRAL BOYS 53, FLOWERY BRANCH 46: Jaleel Bailey led the Falcons with a team-high 14 points Friday night in Flowery Branch.

The Falcons visit Winder-Barrow at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
