North Hall boys take down North Forsyth in Holiday Shootout

The North Hall boys jumped to a 22-11 lead after the first period Thursday and never looked back with a 65-43 win against North Forsyth in the Holiday Shootout at Johnson.

Junior Ethan Smith led the Trojans (9-3) with 14 points and Preston Smith added 13.

Adam Kelly finished with 10 points for North Hall. The Trojans finished the Holiday Shootout with a pair of wins. North Hall plays West Hall at 7:30 p.m. tonight in Gainesville.

TOWNS COUNTY 68, DAWSON COUNTY 57: Freshman Sheyenne Seabolt led the Lady Tigers (8-6) with 16 points and eight rebounds in the loss on Thursday at the Battle of the States in Hiawassee. Carly Gilreath finished with 13 points for Dawson County.

Dawson County hosts Rabun County at 7 p.m. on Jan. 6 in Dawsonville.

DAWSON COUNTY BOYS 43, POLK (TENN.) 31: Gunnar Armstrong led the Tigers (12-2) with 11 points to win third place in the Battle of the States tournament on Thursday in Hiawassee.

Dawson County will play at 8:30 on Jan. 6 at home against Rabun County.

FORSYTH CENTRAL GIRLS 70, JOHNSON 48: Carlie Doster led the Lady Knights (1-12) with 18 points in a loss on Thursday in the Holiday Shootout at Johnson. Lyndsey Pethel finished with 10 points.

BUFORD BOYS 73, HARRISON 46: Isaiah  Williams scored 17 points to help the Wolves (9-2) pick up the win on Thursday at the Converse Invitational at Columbia High School.

Kyle Kellam scored 14 points in the win. Brad Mapes finished with 12 points and T.J. Shipes scored 10 points.

Buford will play at 5:30 p.m. today against Norland High (Fla.) for sixth place.

HOOVER (ALA.) GIRLS 48, BUFORD 35: Kristina Nelson led the Lady Wolves (7-5) with eight points in the loss Wednesday in the Peach State Jump Off  Classic at Holy Innocents.

It was the seventh game in 10 days for the Lady Wolves, who won't play again until Jan. 6 at Decatur.

CHESTATEE GIRLS 59, SOUTH PAULDING 56: Emily Crain led the Lady War Eagles (9-4) with 20 points on Thursday at the Lake City Classic at Allatoona. Erin Clifford finished with 16 points for the Lady War Eagles.

Chestatee will play at 4 p.m. today against an opponent still to be determined.

BUFORD BOYS 58, EAGLES LANDING 48 (Wednesday): Payton Wehunt led the Wolves (8-2) with 17 points on Wednesday at the Converse Invitational at Columbia High School.

T.J. Shipes and Isaiah Williams had 14 and 13 points respectively. Kyle Kellam finished with 12 points.
