High school scoreboard: Armour's 41 points leads Banks County

Led by Chase Armour’s 41 points, the Banks County High basketball team picked up its seventh straight win with a 85-70 victory against Stephens County on Friday in the Piedmont Christmas Tournament at Piedmont College in Demorest.

More than half of Armour’s points came from behind the 3-point line, where he made seven shots.
Quentin Lovelace also scored in double figures for the Leopards (9-1), with 11. Kane Duncan and Kevin Daniel each added 10 points.

E.J. Neal led Stephens County with 29 points.

Banks County will play Friday’s winner of White County and Habersham County in the Piedmont Christmas Tournament final at 8 p.m. today.

Jackson County girls 38, West Hall 25

Ashley Skelton led the Lady Panthers with 20 points on Friday in Jefferson.

Jayla Moon scored 14 points for West Hall.

Jackson County will host the Jackson County Jingle Jam Dec. 29-30. West Hall plays host to North Hall at 6 p.m. Dec. 30.

West Hall boys 85, Jackson County 48

Manny Mata and Kavon Williams each scored 20 points en route to the unbeaten Spartans’ 10th straight win of the season on Friday in Jefferson.

Shunquez Stephens also scored in double figures for West Hall (10-0), with 11 points.

Joseph Smith was the lone Jackson County scorer in double figures, with 18 points.

West Hall plays host to North Hall at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 30. Jackson County (1-7) will host the Jackson County Jingle Jam Dec. 29-30.

Chestatee girls 44, Shiloh 40

Peyton Robertson scored 18 points and had six rebounds for the Lady War Eagles in the Highway 78 tournament on Friday at Villa Rica High.

Chelsea Wilson had a double-double for Chestatee (3-6), with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Chestatee continues play in Highway 78 tournament at 4 p.m. today against Villa Rica.

Dawson County boys 46, North Oconee 41

Blyth Chester led the Tigers with 13 points on Friday in Dawsonville.

Jesse Webb led North Oconee with 11 points.

Dawson County (5-3, 1-0 Region 8-AA) visits Sonoraville at 5:30 p.m. today.

Flowery Branch boys 67, Winder-Barrow 55

Josh Barrett scored a game-high 32 points and scored six 3-pointers on Friday in Winder.

Ishmael Hollis also scored in double figures for the Falcons (3-1), with 20 points.

Henry Maxey led Winder-Barrow with 16 points. Shun Thurmond had 12 points and Jodee Maxey added 10 points.

Flowery Branch faces Marietta at 5 p.m. Dec. 27 in the Campbell Holiday Classic at Campell High School.
