JOHNSON GIRLS 5, LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 3: Kelsey Dumanowsky tallied a pair of goals for the Lady Knights on Tuesday in Oakwood.

Evelin Aviata added a goal and two assists, and Itzel Rivera and Logan Dumanowsky also scored for Johnson (5-8-1). Hannah Hester added two assists.

The Lady Knights visit White County on Friday in Cleveland.

GAINESVILLE BOYS 4, JACKSON COUNTY 1: Omar Perez led the Red Elephants with a pair of goals on Tuesday.

Diego Porras and Esteban Bautista also scored for Gainesville. Juan Robles and Cesar Salcido notched assists.

The Red Elephants (11-3, 7-0 Region 8-AAAAA) play host to Loganville at 11 a.m. Saturday at City Park.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 10, JACKSON COUNTY 0: Liz Fischer tallied four goals and an assist for Gainesville on Tuesday.

Alyssa Turner recorded three goals and two assists, and Margaret Carpenter had a goal and two assists for the Lady Red Elephants (13-1, 8-0 Region 8-AAAAA). Breana Fair had a goal and an assist, and Jazmin Penado scored for Gainesville. Alondra Wedding earned the shutout in goal.

The Lady Red Elephants beat Chestatee 2-0 on Monday with goals from Fischer and Caroline Nabb. Wedding made five saves in goal.

Gainesville plays host to Hebron Christian on Friday at City Park.

CHESTATEE GIRLS 10, CEDAR SHOALS 0: Sadie Foote fueled the Lady War Eagles with four goals on Tuesday in Athens.

Merrie Barnett notched two goals, and Nina Burgess, Stacey Mendoza, Bailey Hooper and Alyssa Yarck each scored one.

Chestatee plays host to Monroe Area on Friday in Gainesville.

Baseball

JEFFERSON 12, RIVERSIDE MILITARY 2: Taylor Wilkes went 2 for 4 with a pair of RBIs for the Dragons on Tuesday in Jefferson.

Christian Hutch, Micah Carpenter and Zack Boobas each notched a hit and two RBIs for Jefferson (17-4, 12-3 Region 8-AAA). Jared Bates earned the win pitching.

The Dragons visit Elbert County on Tuesday in Elberton.

Tennis

RABUN COUNTY 3, RIVERSIDE MILITARY 2: The Eagles finished in second place in Region 8-AA after a 3-0 win against Washington-Wilkes and a 3-2 loss to Rabun County on Tuesday.

Ryan Dimond and Sipho Khoza earned wins for Riverside Military.

The Eagles will host a first-round playoff match next week.

CHESTATEE BOYS 3, BUFORD 2: The War Eagles advanced to the Class AAAA state tournament with an upset win on Tuesday in Danielsville.

Tyler Burgess and Austin Passmore earned singles wins for Chestatee, and Hunter Creamer/Logan Gruenenfelder won a third-set tiebreaker at No. 1 doubles to earn the team victory.

The War Eagles face Madison County in the third-place match at 1:30 p.m. today in Danielsville.

NORTH OCONEE GIRLS 3, CHESTATEE 0: The Lady War Eagles’ season ended Tuesday in a Region 8-AAAA tournament loss in Danielsville.
