Eli Stuart’s squeeze bunt scored Hunter Strange as the East Hall High baseball team defeated rival West Hall 4-3 in eight innings on Saturday night in Oakwood.

Jonah Crocker worked out of a bases-loaded jam with no outs in the bottom of the seventh and also pitched the eighth to earn the win.

The Spartans had tied the contest on Merritt Gasaway’s two-run homer.

Jack Hagwood threw six innings for the Vikings in a no-decision, striking out three and allowing three runs (two earned).

Jesse Cooper tallied two hits for East Hall and threw out a base runner for the game’s final out. Cole Smith also had two hits for the Vikings, who finished with nine total hits.

East Hall hosts Fannin County at 5:55 p.m. Monday.

NORTH HALL 10, CHESTATEE 0 (6 INNINGS): Corbin Lewallen tossed a two-hit shutout on Saturday night.

Lewallen tallied five strikeouts and one walk, and he added two hits and three RBIs at the plate.

Micah Strickland led the Trojans with three hits and three runs scored. Lincoln Hewett pitching in two hits, two RBIs and a run scored. Taber Mongero scored twice and Drew Coker contributed two-run double.

BUFORD 12, JOHNSON 0 (5 INNINGS): Griffin Jolliff and Clay Dickie combined on a four-hit shutout and totaled nine strikeouts for the Wolves on Saturday at Gerald McQuaig Field in Buford.

Jolliff took the win, going three innings, striking out six and allowing three hits. Dickie struck out three and surrendered one hit in the final two innings.

Caleb Moore was 2 for 3 with three RBIs to pace Buford’s 14-hit offense. Ian Jenkins had a double and two RBIs, with Kent Baldy and Connor Cohea each driving in a run.

The Wolves scored three runs in the first, four in the second, two in the third and three in the fourth.

SALEM 12, FLOWERY BRANCH 7: Andrew Nolt went 3 for 4 with a triple and two RBIs to pace the Falcons offensively on Saturday in Flowery Branch.

Jonathan Hughes was 2 for 3 at the plate, while Trey Groves went 1 for 3 with two RBIs and a double, Marq Kilcoyne was 1 for 2 with an RBI and Stephen Skeggs went 1 for 3 with a double.

Skeggs took the loss for Flowery Branch.

The Falcons (12-6, 7-5 Region 8-AAAAA) play at Winder-Barrow on Monday.
