Football scoreboard: Chestatee wins in a rout

Chestatee defeated Pickens County 45-14 Friday night in Jasper to open subregion play.

War Eagles quarterback Ethan Souther led the Chestatee offense with 148 passing yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 50 yards and two touchdowns on six carries.

Ben Souther added 129 yards and two scores on 12 carries, and Justin Byers had four receptions for 91 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the War Eagles.

Chestatee (2-2, 1-0 Region 7A-AAA) plays host to Lumpkin County at 7:30 p.m. next Friday in Gainesville.

Lincoln County 35, Commerce 6
Running back Chase Bowen led the Tigers (1-3), carrying 16 times for 101 yards and a touchdown Friday in Lincolnton.

North Oconee 12, Banks County 7
Justin Beasley led Banks County (2-3, 2-2 Region 8-AA) with 84 yards rushing and a touchdown Friday in Homer.

Lumpkin County 14, Gilmer 6
Daniel Abercrombie scored for Lumpkin County (1-3, 0-1 Region 7A-AAA) on a quarterback sneak from the 2 Friday in Dahlonega.

Lumpkin County's Brandon Roberts intercepted a pass late in the game. Haden Rider then scored on an 24-yard run to secure the win for the Indians.

Habersham Central 46, Winder Barrow 6
Kevin Ellion led Habersham Central (2-3, 2-3 Region 8-AAAA) with 92 yards rushing and two scores Friday in Mount Airy.

Habersham Central quarterback Austin Brown was 8-for-13 passing for 71 yards and a touchdown.

Habersham Central visits Madison County at 7:30 p.m. next Friday in Danielsville.

Jefferson 50, Union County 14
The Dragons forced four turnovers and a safety in a battle of unbeatens Friday in Blairsville.

Darius Minor led Jefferson (5-0, 4-0 Region 8-AA) with 185 passing yards and three touchdowns. He also added 83 rushing yards.

Wesleyan 38, Lakeview 0
Haughton Carswell led the Lions with 80 rushing yards.

The Lakeview (1-2, 0-1 Region 8-A) defense was anchored by Lex Little with 10 tackles and Patrick McCormac with eight.

Ballard 42, North Georgia Christian 24
Tyler Harney had 19 carries for 130 yards and two touchdowns for the Chargers in eight-man football Friday.

Joe Boonstra ran eight times for 60 yards for the Chargers.
