High school tennis scoreboard: Flowery Branch boys sweep Grady in second round of playoffs

The duo of Caden Caldwell/Gunnar Hetzel rallied for a crucial win in No. 2 doubles (5-7, 6-4, 6-2) in the Flowery Branch High boys tennis team’s 3-0 win against Grady in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs on Tuesday in Atlanta. 

With the win, the third-seeded Falcons move on to the state quarterfinals and will play the winner of No. 1 seed Statesboro and No. 3 seed Morrow at a time and date to be determined. 

Also winning for Flowery Branch was Nathan Holley in No. 2 singles (6-0, 6-0) and John Hollis/Brody Millwood in No. 1 doubles (7-5, 6-3). Drayton Matus was tied 1-1 in the third set of No. 1 singles and Jack Thomas trailed in the opening set of No. 1 singles when the Falcons clinched the victory.
