Green named semifinalist for Biletnikoff Award

University of Georgia football team’s sophomore flanker, A.J. Green, was named a semifinalist for the 2009 Biletnikoff Award, an annual award presented to the nation’s top collegiate receiver, according to an announcement from the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation on Monday.

Green, a 6-4, 207-pound native of Summerville, S.C., leads the SEC with 682 receiving yards, 97.4 yards per game, and is tied for the lead in the SEC with six receiving touchdowns.

Green is the only player from the SEC picked as a semifinalist.

The Bulldogs travel to Jacksonville, Fla., to face top-ranked Florida at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The game will be televised by CBS.
